About Us

ELLEN.G is the creation of German born graphic designer Ellen Giggenbach.

Her dream has been, to create a range of unique, quality products for wholesale purchase, showcasing her distinctive cut paper art.

During a holiday in Venice, she stumbled on a quirky shop that specialised in selling a range of products all embellished with a distinctive range of patterns.

“It was like a light bulb had gone on ~ I knew right there and then that this was what I needed to do!”

On returning to Auckland (her father, a celebrated Volcanologist had brought her family to live in New Zealand) and having completed 2 years design school in Vienna and 4 years design school in New Zealand, where she was awarded a Diploma with Distinction, Ellen went on to enjoy a successful career as a freelance designer. She illustrated books, created swimwear fabric patterns, designed adult and children’s clothing and accessories for both her own company and other companies such as Air New Zealand.

Finally, with a world of experience under her belt Ellen has decided that the time is right to realise her dream.

“I am thrilled to bring you my first collection. Each piece of artwork is created by hand cutting specially coloured paper. I am inspired by an eclectic mix of simple 1950’s and 60’s shapes, European folk art and traditional romantic imagery. I am sure you will embrace my designs with as much joy as I have had in creating them for you.”
